Dr. Tai Mao

A Commitment to Care, Community, and Family

My profession has allowed me to become more of a giver than I ever imagined. Dentistry gives me the opportunity to restore smiles, serve my community, and make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. Most importantly, it allows me to involve my children in community service and teach them the value of giving back.

My patients are the driving force behind my passion for dentistry. While providing excellent dental care allows me to change smiles and lives, the trusting relationships and lasting bonds I form with my patients change my life as well. The friendships I’ve built through my practice have made me a better person and a stronger role model for my children.

Education & Continuing Education

I am a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in Los Angeles. I currently attend over 100 hours of continuing education each year, allowing me to stay current with the latest dental technology and techniques.

Ongoing education enables me to provide more efficient treatment planning, shorter procedure and recovery times, and improved overall patient care. My advanced training includes studies in:

Outside the Office

I was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States at the age of nine. I have lived in the San Gabriel Valley ever since. My wife, Ivy, and I have three children—Joshua, Oliver, and Abigail—and watching them grow has been one of life’s greatest joys.

In my free time, I enjoy traveling, watching sports, and staying active. I am deeply involved in my community to teach my children the importance of contributing time and effort to create a better place for everyone.

I actively participate in neighborhood watch programs, volunteer with the Kiwanis Club by providing free dental checkups, and take part in Dentistry From The Heart to deliver free dental care to those in need.

Let me start off by saying that I really get anxious with dentists. The whole process just gets me very nervous. However, Dr. Mao explained thoroughly my current dental issues. Carmen took her time explaining my insurance coverage and answered all my questions. The hygienist Celina amazing! She kept making sure I was comfortable during treatment. Not every dentist or office makes you feel welcome, but Dr. Mao, his hygienists, and the office staff treat you like family from the moment you walk in. What stands out to me is the consistency.
